One club, every kind of knight
Fighting is the focus. We teach at ren-faires and events where you pay to learn LARP-safe foam-sword fighting and fight all day, with a full encampment built around it; cooking, garb, full immersion, and occasionally HEMA and Buhurt in blunted steel. We are inclusive to all races, genders, and creeds! With a focus on safety, and family-friendly fun!!
Fighting is the focus
Most of what we do is fighting: group battles, duels between one or two fighters, tournaments, and larger war-style engagements, with LARP-safe foam and polypropylene weapons. We run this mostly out at ren-faires and events; set up an encampment and attendees pay per person to learn and then fight all day. We teach adults, and a few kiddos too, how to fight safely, in garb. The inspiration is the same films and series that got most of us into this. The difference is that nothing we carry is sharp. We are teachers, nurses, welders, students, and retirees, and what we share is a fairly specific idea of a good weekend: teaching someone their first swing with a foam sword, running a scenario worth fighting over, with people who treat you like family.
A smaller part of the club fights HEMA and Buhurt; historical European martial arts, and the modern armored combat you may have seen as a team sport. That's full contact, in blunted steel, under trained marshals.
Safety first, always
This is the part we will happily bore you with.
Every event has its own ruleset, and that ruleset is posted in advance and walked through with everyone taking part before anything begins. Nobody fights a format they haven't had explained to them. Liability waivers are non-negotiable, EVERYONE must sign before they are allowed to fight!
Armor and weapons are checked on arrival. Every event, every time, including for people who have been doing this for years.
LARP and reenactment scenarios use foam and polypropylene weapons. On the smaller HEMA and Buhurt side, steel weapons are blunted, rounded off at the tip and dulled along the edge. Real steel is only used at certain events, and requires additional training and safety instructions.
Encampment
Alongside the booth, we run a full encampment at events; cooking, garb, and full immersion, so a kingdom feels lived-in, not just fought over. We aim for period-correct where we reasonably can, and we build the immersion out further with our own gear and a Royal Court ready to help fill out the kingdom at any event, large or small.
Beyond fighters, the club has its own traders, merchants, vendors, and performers — bards included.
Everyone's welcome
We're a family-friendly group and train new recruits starting at age 12. Commanders are there to teach footwork, safety, and the rules from day one, so nobody is thrown into a bout unprepared. We welcome members from every race, gender, creed, and sect! KOM does not discriminate!
What it costs

At public events, the public pays per person to fight at our booth; that's how we cover the cost of running the encampment and getting on the road.
Coming to a first practice
There's no audition. Check in, sign a waiver, and you'll be outfitted and taught from there.
Practice runs most weeks. The group sets the day between them rather than holding one fixed night, so the easiest thing is to send a note and ask where the next one is.
Then turn up and watch. Nobody will force a weapon in your hands on day one, and nobody will mind if you spend the whole evening standing at the edge.
